Manuel Gaton, from Spain; Rochelle Buyugawan, from the UAE; and Busisiwe Klimt, from Germany, will enjoy an experience of a lifetime thanks to The City Sightseeing Marathon Challenge global campaign.
The City Sightseeing Marathon Challenge heads to Athens, where the second edition of the global campaign takes place on 11th November. After a successful experience in February 2018 in Seville, the City Sightseeing competition is set to be celebrated at the Marathon’s birthplace.
From 1st to 10th October, runners from all parts of the world submitted their participation on this website for their chance to win an unforgettable running and sightseeing experience in one of the most popular destinations in the world – Athens, Greece.
The jury named Rochelle Buyugawan as the Best Story prize winner. Rochelle, who is from the Philippines and lives in Dubai, is turning 40 just in time for the Athens Marathon. “I was planning to do a birthday run with friends but as I’ve been given the chance to participate in Athens then that will be one of the greatest achievement in my life & a check in my bucket lists” says Rochelle, who started running only five years ago and did her 1st Marathon in January in Dubai.
As the Best Time holders, the jury awarded Manuel Gaton, from Rota, Spain, who certified a time of 2:33:24 in the 2017 Seville Marathon; and Busisiwe Klimt, a South African who lives in Munich, Germany, with 3:42:12 in the 2016 Munich Marathon.
